Residence of Imperial Pleasures

 

The Habsburg family resided in their summer residence, Schönbrunn Palace from the mid 18th century onwards. In 1904 emperor Franz Josef declared the palace to his main residence.

Following this great tradition, the Querfeld family named the Café they established in best Viennese tradition, “Café Residenz”.

Our guests at the Café Residenz are served with imperial delicacies such as our coffee speciality, Maria Theresa and even one of Franz Josef’s favorite dishes, the Tafelspitz, a boiled filet of beef. You will also find the tradition recipe of Kaiserschmarrn, a schredded pancake made with raisins and sugar.

The facilities of the Café Restaurant Residenz are reserved for our non-smoking guests. If you wish to smoke you may do so on the terrace of our café.
